Season of Discovery Phase 3 DPS Ranking - Best DPS Class & Spec In SOD P3

It is important to choose one of the best DPS specs in Season of Discovery Phase 3. The SoD raid Sunken Temple continues to require strong DPS performance to clear challenging encounters and meet DPS check thresholds. Our Season of Discovery Phase 3 DPS tier list is based on the logs to see how well they compete against each other. We'll be ranking them in three different types of categories, putting high emphasis on how much damage they're doing as the most important out of the three. The second is the AoE damage and the third is the buffs and debuffs that they bring to a raid.

S Tier

• Enhancement Shaman

• Destruction Warlock

Shaman is currently the top on single target at the moment and the Warlock is pretty much right behind them. More consistently though, you're seeing the Warlocks beat all of these other classes. We're going to put both Shaman and Warlock in the S tier. The utility that they bring is arguably about the same.

• Fire Mage

Fire Mages are outperforming both of the Mage specs. Fire Mages are the top best Season of Discovery DPS specs that do the most damage. On a single target, they are really close behind. The only reason we’re keeping the Mage up here with these specs is because of the AoE that they bring in comparison to Shaman and Warlock.

• Melee Hunter

The next is going to be the Melee Hunter. They are pretty much in the fourth spot at the moment. They're a bit under the Fire Mage and the Warlock. But with the right utility and the right comp, they are easily one of the top best WOW SOD Phase 3 DPS right now.

A Tier

• Fury Warrior

Fury Warrior is easily at top of the Season of Discovery phase 3 DPS ranking with the right comp and the right buffs. They don't bring a whole lot of utility compared to other DPS but they bring a ton of cleave and overall damage.

• Elemental Shaman

Elemental Shamans are very strong and they're super underrated. If you look at logs, they are keeping up with pretty much every other DPS that's going to be in this A tier. Not only they are incredible on AoE, but also they do good on short single-target fights. They're easily as good as a Fury Warrior.

• Retribution Paladin

Retribution Paladin is another spec that’s underrated. They do really well overall and they have pretty solid single-target damage. They bring a ton of utility to the raid, just an all-around good class to have in your raid.

• Shadow Priest

Shadow Priest is decent on single target but on AoE, they're S tier. They are absolutely incredible on overall damage but they’re not going in S tier. They do deserve at least A tier as well as the utility they bring. It's nice to have a Shadow Priest because you're offered all the raid utility that a Disc Priest would bring. They stay in the A tier on the SoD Phase 3 DPS tier list because of their just incredible overall damage.

B Tier

• Balance Druid

Balance Druid is below the other classes in terms of single target damage and AoE damage but they do bring a lot of utility.

• Feral Druid

Feral Druids don't do incredibly well. A lot of the logs you're looking at are Druids that are playing the 31 Feral spec which isn't the highest DPS spec at the moment. You're bringing that leader of the pack bonus so all the Fury Warriors want you in their group. All the melee DPS want that Wind Fury especially if you're on the Alliance side, you can't get it anywhere else. Overall, they're not doing more damage than these A tier DPS but they're doing decent on single target.

• Outlaw Rogue

Rogue is a bit below the Balance Druid. They do a little bit more on a single target than the Rogue on certain counters. But for the most part, they are a bit below and just underperforming. They do pretty well on multi-target and AoE encounters with blade flurry and adrenaline rush but they don't bring as much utility as the Balance Druid.

C Tier

• Range Hunter

Range Hunter is pretty bad at the moment. It is doing more damage than the Arcane Mage and Frost Mage but they are doing less than the Feral and the Combat Rogue.

D Tier

• Arcane Mage

• Frost Mage

Arcane Mages are at the bottom of the Season of Discovery Phase 3 DPS ranking. They are doing arguably just as bad as a Frost Mage. They bring next to no utility. There are no real runes to support them completely. You do have missile barrage but the Arcane Mage is the second to the bottom of the SoD P3 DPS tier list.
