With the Friends update on 19 February, Psyonix will provide more crossplay features in Rocket League.
Psyonix will be outfitting Rocket League with the Friends Update next week. The exact date was announced today. The new feature update will be released on February 19, 2019 for all supported platforms.
Among other things, the new Rocket League update introduces the cross-platform group system. This system is designed to give players the opportunity to invite friends from other gaming platforms into groups and clubs.
A new menu section will be launched, showing the online status of all "Rocket League" friends regardless of the platform. The friends list is divided into four points: friends, RocketID, last players and alerts.
The Friends tab shows all friends on the current platform. RocketID also shows online friends of the other platforms. Each player will automatically be assigned a RocketID after the update. This consists of the user name and four randomly generated numbers. The word content of the RocketID can be changed at any time.
The Recent Players tab shows the players you played with recently. Under "Alerts" you will find all the player interactions such as friend requests, party invitations and club invitations.
Other coming Rocket League updates:
Rewards for competition season 9, beginning of the competition season 10
Additional modes in free play
