The 80th party event Rocket League Radical Summer is live! You are cordially invited by the developers to Radical Summer, Rocket League's big 80s party, which will be on throughout the summer. Heads up! Grab your Neon Balloon Pants, Hairspray and Mixtapes and travel back in time! Psyonix celebrates the hottest movies, TV series and just the coolest culture of one of the most influential decades of all time! In this guide, we will show all the new content and offers of the Rocket League Radical Summer, covering start date, end date, new themed items (battle car, decals, banners and more), new premium DLCs, new limited time game mode and more!
Psyonix unveiled the big-teased summer event in Rocket League. This is called "Radical Summer" and brings 80's flair in the world of rocket-powered battle cars. So players can look forward to thematic trips in the direction of Ghost Busters, Knight Rider, Back to the Future, Karate Kid and many more.
Start Date: Monday, June 10th
End Date: Monday, August 12th
The Rocket League Radical Summer Event will last nine weeks, this makes the in-game event one of the biggest in the history of the almost four-year-old game. Radical Summer is divided into three major three-week areas around the 1980s celebrations - Blockbusters, Culture and Television. From the 10th to the 30th of June it's all about blockbusters, culture from the 1st to the 21st of July and finally all kinds of television from the 22nd of July to the 11th of August. Each phase will start at 7pm on the start date.
The dates for the Rocket League Radical Summer phases are:
Blockbusters: June 10 - July 1
Culture: July 1 - July 22
Television July 22 - August 12
What does the 80's Radical Summer offer?
New Battle Car
So far, Psyonix has not yet completely lured out of the reserve, which will give it everything during the event, and also you can get the lastest Rocket League news and guides on RocketPrices.com. However, it is already clear that we will get new battle cars via two premium DLCs. These include the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Battle Car and the Knight Rider Car Pack including K.I.T.T. Older fans should still remember both vehicles well.
New In-Game Limited Currency - Cassettes
Also, the new event currency is already known, which is earned when playing online matches, to then unlock themed rewards. This time, "cassettes" symbolize the currency that you can exchange for pretty 80's optics upgrades throughout the summer. The store will also change from phase to phase and thus offer a large supply of skins and items to unlock.
New Items & Gold Eggs
If you can not manage to get all the desired items in one phase, there will be a "Last Chance Redemption" week at the end of the event from August 12th to 19th, where all items of the promotion will be available again. In addition, the already known golden eggs in the event period should return. You can buy up to five pieces of these special containers per phase (3 weeks) of the summer event, and randomly receive Elevation, Victory, Turbo, Nitro and more Rocket League Crates items upon opening.

New Time-Limited Modes

Psyonix starts with three individual game modes, which are to be integrated gradually during the event period. It starts with the "Ghost Hunt" mode - matching the Ghostbusters DLC.
Ghost Hunt
"Ghost Hunt" is played in 3 against 3 and offers each player a "proton beam" as a power-up. With this, the players must try to catch the ghostly ball in the containment zone of the opposing team. The game mode will bring new and scary light and sound effects in the Urban Central Arena and be playable from the 1st of July.
High-Octane Spike Rush
Together with the second phase of the "Culture" event, the second LTM with the name "high-octane spike rush" will also be launched. Also played in 3v3, this mode takes place at the Throwback Stadium Arena to draw attention to the fourth birthday of the title and to recall past times. Each player has the well-known "spikes" power-up from the Rumble mode, who impaled the ball without further ado. Especially: In "high-octane spike rush" you can deactivate the spines anytime again.
Beach Ball
The third and last LTM is Beach Ball Mode. In this mode, you will play in the 2 to 2 on the beaches of Salty Shores. Like a real plastic ball, the game device will be bigger and lighter than usual. Also the curveball mutator is activated. Pretty windy here!
