Season of Discovery Phase 2 Runes: Rune Slots, Runes for Each Class & How to Get

With the phase 2 announcement of World of Warcraft Season of Discovery, we want talk about the SoD Phase 2 runes. We do some data mined information about rune slots and we might see more runes than you expect. Given by what we've seen in phase 1 all the runes we've had to go and gather, just the endless potential for all of these runes and abilities.

WoW Classic Season of Discovery Phase 2 Runes Guide

In World of Warcraft Classic's Season of Discovery, Runes are a unique character customization system. They're essential items that can be found or earned throughout the season and then "engraved" into specific slots on your equipment, granting you additional abilities beyond your standard skills and talents. 

These can be combat-focused, like a warrior's cleave attack or a mage's fireball enhancement, or utility-based, like a priest's mana regen boost or a rogue's movement speed increase. Some runes trigger automatically, while others require you to activate them manually. Runes add their effects to your existing skills and talents, opening up new opportunities for build creativity. WoW Season of Discovery Phase 2 Rune Slots

We already know that chest, leg, and glove slots are coming with the initial level 25 bracket, however, this confirms that 9 total rune shots will be accessed through it. So it excludes necks, rings, trinkets, and weapons. This means we are going to see the hand, bracer, cloak, feet, helm, shoulder, and wrists. That's awesome because it allows us to think we will get.

WoW Season of Discovery Phase 2 Runes

For runes in phase 2 of Classic WoW Season of Discovery, we got four runes for each type of armor. Cap cap is 40 in Phase 2, 50 in phase 3, and 60 in Phase 4. So probably they're going to give us a core piece of gear such as boots, shoulders, and helm and an off piece of gear such as belt, cloak, and wrists. At level 40, they’re most likely giving us a helm rune or belt rune. Boots rune, back rune, shoulder or wrist rune at 60, it could be any combination. It doesn't matter what slots of gear they're going to give us but they're going to give us two slots in the 40 bracket, 50 bracket, and 60 bracket just because that makes the most sense and they even can add more.

They’re giving us a total of 8 runes in SoD Phase 2 based on the fact we got 4 for each slot. However, 8 might be a lot and on the power curve, if they give us eight every phase, in the end, you'd be at a total of 32 runes, which would be a ton of balancing and effort. So maybe they cut back with the other slots and only get us 4 runes per class or maybe 6 runes per class just to make it a little more reasonable.

How to Get Runes in Season of Discovery Phase 2?

• Class Trainer Quest: At level 2, your class trainer will send you on a quest to obtain your first Rune. This sets the stage for your Rune journey and teaches you the basics of engraving them.

• Loot drops: As you venture through the world, you'll have a chance of finding Runes as loot from specific creatures, especially elite mobs and higher-level bosses. Keep your eyes peeled!

• Hidden Locations: Some Runes are tucked away in secret corners of the world, waiting to be unearthed by adventurous players. Be thorough in your exploration and keep an eye out for suspicious cracks in walls or hidden passages.
  

• Dungeons and Raids: Certain dungeons and raids have higher chances of dropping rare and powerful Runes. Gearing up and tackling these challenges together with your guild can be a rewarding way to expand your Rune collection.

• Auction House: Players can put their unwanted Runes up for auction, allowing you to purchase those missing pieces for your arsenal. However, expect bidding wars for the most sought-after ones.
  

• World Events and Professions: Some world events and professions might offer Runes as rewards for participation or crafting. Stay informed about ongoing events and consider leveling up relevant professions like Skinning or Enchanting to see if they can help your Rune hunt.
