WoW SoD Phase 3 Leaks: Release Date, New Raid, Runes, Dungeons, PvP Contents

3/1/2024 11:16:23 AM

WoW Classic Season of Discovery (SoD) is gearing up for its Phase 3 release, and the WoW community is abuzz with leaks and speculation. Here's everything we know so far about the upcoming Season of DiscoPhase 3 content, including release dates, new raids, runes, dungeons, and PvP content.

WoW SoD Phase 3 Release Date

Blizzard has announced that SoD Phase 3 will begin in spring 2024. While an exact release date is still under wraps, if we follow the pattern of previous phases, with Phase 1 lasting 10 weeks, we can tentatively expect Phase 3 to start around mid-April 2024. Blizzard has noted that each phase will last at least a month but no longer than 3-4 months, suggesting a May or June end at the latest. We'll update this article with more specific information once it becomes available.

WoW Season of Discovery Phase 3 New Features - New Raids, Runes, Dungeons, PvP & More

New Raid: Sunan Temple

The most anticipated addition is the level 50 raid, which might be the Sunan Temple, a 20-player experience. Evidence from data mining and changes in the dungeon lockout times suggests that the Temple of Atal'Hakkar, also known as Sunken Temple, is being repurposed as a raid. The dungeon's player cap has already been adjusted from 5 to 10, aligning with Blizzard's confirmation of future 20-player raids.

The Sunken Temple, already rich in lore and class-specific quests, is an ideal candidate for the new raid. This transition from a dungeon to a raid will likely involve scaling up class quest rewards and integrating them into the raid experience.

Level Cap and Runes

Phase 3 will bring the level cap up to 50 and introduce new runes to the game. While details on these runes are yet to be confirmed, data mining has revealed potential options, which you can find in our comprehensive list of all WoW SoD runes.

Professions

The professions level cap is expected to increase to level 300 (Artisan), presumably once players reach level 41, although this has not been officially confirmed. Players can also look forward to profession specializations, with Blizzard hinting at "something special for these at level 50… and 60."

Dungeons and PvP Content

The Scarlet Monastery is slated to be the go-to level-up raid in Phase 3, known for its iconic characters and memorable loot such as the Ravager axe and Herod's shoulder. With the community's fondness for the Scarlet Monastery, it's expected that this raid will play a significant role in the new phase.

As for PvP, following the release of Warsong Gulch and Arathi Basin, speculation is rife about the new PvP content. Alterac Valley is an option, but its minimum level requirement of 51 may push it to later phases unless adjustments are made. The PvP event zone is likely to shift to a 40-50 level zone, with Tanaris, Feralas, and The Hinterlands being strong candidates.

WoW's SoD Phase 3 is shaping up to be an exciting update, with a new raid, increased level caps, profession updates, and more. While the community waits for official confirmations, leaks and data mining provide a glimpse into what could be some of the most significant changes to the game. Stay tuned for updates as we approach the spring release.
