In WoW Cataclysm Classic, melee DPS, or melee damage per second, refers to a specific role within a group or raid in games like MMORPGs or multiplayer online battle arenas (MOBAs). Melee DPS characters specialize in dealing damage to enemies while being in close proximity to them, typically within melee range. In Cataclysm, you can play almost anything you want. Cataclysm Melee DPS Tier List

S Tier

• Arms Warrior 

Fantastic single target damage, great AOC burst and strong utility. 

• Unholy Death Knight 

Numerically one of the highest DPS melees in Cataclysm, brings anti-magic zone and battle res to the raid group. 

• Frost Death Knight 

Starts off strong in Phase 1 of Cataclysm and gets better throughout the whole expansion. You also provide awesome utility with your battle res.

A Tier

• Retribution Paladin 

Great utility for raids with their buffs, and scales with the progression through Cataclysm. In the beginning, Retribution can be a little slow, but with the progress comes smoother and faster gameplay.

• Assassination Rogue 

It's the best overall Cataclysm DPS spec for Rogues who has great AOE through fan of knives and great single target damage. 

B Tier

• Enhancement Shaman

Numbers are not looking very great for Enhancement Shaman, while they bring some utility to the raid and their overall DPS stays consistent, it's not one of the big pumpers in Cataclysm. 

• Feral Druid 

Good cleave damage but mostly nothing to fancy for a raid group. They bring utility but most Feral Druids will be seen in PvP or as a bear tank. 

C Tier

• Combat Rogue 

Combat Rogue has okay single-target damage and good AOE with fan of knives. However, there is no reason besides the easy rotation of Combat Rogue to not pick an Assassination Rogue which shines more than Combat in nearly any aspect. 

• Subtlety Rogue

Subtlety Rogue has single target damage, can be up to Assassination and Combat Rogue. But in multi-target fights, they lack a lot which sadly makes them a nearly only PVP spec.

D Tier

Fury Warrior 

Numbers are not too bad when playing a Fury Warrior but Arms is simply a better spec in nearly every situation and encounter.
