Since the start of the current Rocket Pass and the end of the previous in-game event, it has become a little quiet about new content extensions for Rocket League. To continue keeping Rocket League players taped to their screens throughout the month of May despite the deconfinement that is coming, Psyonix has launched the Modes of May event with no less than four temporary game modes arriving in the game. 

Rocket League Modes of May

"Dropshot Rumble" started on May 1st, a combination of two permanently existing game modes. The limited-time mode will remain available until Monday, May 4th. It will be replaced by the second of a total of four planned Limited Time Modes (LTM) on May 7th. From next Thursday you can let off steam in "Beach Ball" until May 11th, which was already playable in the "Radical Summer" in-game event 2019. In a 2v2 game, which is strongly reminiscent of beach volleyball on a beach vacation, the ball behaves like a real beach ball. This means that it has much lower gravity and curvy trajectories are not uncommon. From May 7 to 11, it will be the turn of Beach-Ball mode in which we will take part in a classic 2 Vs 2, but with a much lighter ball. From May 14 to 18, it will be the turn of Boomer Ball mode, the principle of which is still unknown. Finally, from May 21 to 26, we can take advantage of the Heatseeker mode in which we will have to defend vigorously since the ball automatically heads towards the goals, and its speed increases each time it is touched.

Each of the upcoming events begins on the first day at 6 p.m. and ends at 6 p.m. on the last day. All of these modes are to be played purely unrated, but give the normal amount of experience points granted. So you don't have to be afraid that you will have to forego progress in Rocket Pass 6.

An overview of the Mode of May Event:

May 1st to 4th: Dropshot Rumble

May 7th to 11th: Beach Ball

May 14th to 18th: Boomer Ball

May 21 to 26: Heatseeker

Dropshot Rumble Mode

This mode have been available from May 1st through May 4th to kick off the limited-time May event. Dropshot Rumble is exactly what it sounds like it would be. It combines two classic Rocket League game modes, Rumble and Dropshot, making it sure to be hit success. Dropshot Rumble with include all the crazy power-ups from Rumble, while also including all the crazy fast-paced action of Dropshot. 

Beach Ball Mode

Beach Ball mode made its Rocket League debut last summer during the Radical Summer event. In this mode, the ball will behave like a beach ball would, meaning it has a curve and floats way more. It is also, of course, played on Salty Shores.

Boomer Ball Mode

The third and only completely new game mode in May will be from May 14th to May 18th. Be a boomer ball. If you are now desperately trying to remember which mode that was, give it up. You will not find your memory because "Boomer Ball" is the only mode that has not been there in the eventful May. Further information and details should be available as soon as the start date approaches.

Heatseeker Mode

It ends with the still comparatively new game mode "Heatseeker", which only made its debut in Rocket League on April 16. There every shot automatically finds the goal, every touch of the ball accelerates the game device even more. The mode, which was only active in the game for a few days, was very well received by the community. In this mode, the ball automatically searches for the way into the opposing network as soon as the ball has been hit / touched - provided that the correct goal has been "targeted". Each time the ball is touched by a player or touches a gang, the ball also gains speed. The first team to score seven goals wins.
